Athena Quartet

Formed at The Juilliard School, the Athena Quartet is a string quartet focused on community engagement. The four members, Rannveig Marta Sarc and Sophia Szokolay on violins, Hannah Burnett on viola, and Geirþrúður Anna Guðmundsdottir on cello, share a passion for bringing music outside the concert hall and into unconventional settings. The Quartet aims to bring interactive concerts and workshops to community venues across New York City with a particular emphasis on serving women at risk of violence and homelessness. Through a partnership with Lenox Hill Neighborhood House they have performed and continue to organize concerts and workshops, both in-person and online.
